Clarksville, TN (7/22/14)— The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), a non-profit public-private partnership focused on helping all digital citizens stay safer and more secure online, is coming to Clarksville with its STOP. THINK. CONNECT. Two Steps Ahead: Protect Your Digital Life Tour to educate consumers and businesses about adding layers of security to their everyday online activities.

The event being held on August 5th from 9-11am at Wilma Rudolph Event Center @ Liberty Park, 1188 Cumberland Drive, Clarksville, TN 37040 is part of a ten-city tour to spread the word about activating security features available on many of the web’s most popular sites. Tennessee Congressman, Marsha Blackburn, will open the event with remarks and the morning will feature a hands-on demonstration showing attendees how to step up their security on sites like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, LinkedIn and financial institutions and a panel of local/state cybersecurity experts.

“From Facebook to Click-and-Mortar stores to the rise in tele-medicine, we live our lives online. Our data follows us as we click through life forming the Virtual You. There are some simple steps, like strengthening passwords and being aware of secure sites, we can all take to protect the virtual you. I appreciate the National Cyber Security Alliance for their work in helping consumers STOP.THINK.and CONNECT,” Congressman Marsha Blackburn.

The event will include a panel discussion with Sese Bennett, CISO State of Tennessee, Better Business Bureau Serving Middle TN and Southern KY President/CEO Kathleen Calligan, and FBI Special Agent Scott E. Augenbaum. The event will run from 9am-11am and registration is open to the public free, but space is limited. “We want to thank all our partners who helped make the event in Clarksville a success,” Kaiser said.
